Auctioned to the Honorable Dom (The Spectrum Auctions, 1) by Doris O'Connor

***Warning this post you are about to view contains content only suitable for adults.***

Blurb:

A drunken dare sees Laura Anderson sign up for the Club Spectrum Auctions. A night of kinky sex with a real Dom is just what she needs. It was never meant to be with Slade Douglas, the only man she's ever loved. The man who left her standing at her parent's grave, and fled the country without an explanation.

Fifteen years her senior, Slade had thought her too fragile and innocent for the lifestyle then, and he made a promise to her brother to leave her alone. This time he cannot walk away, especially as Laura is not the innocent girl he remembers. She has grown into a beautiful woman, willing and able to gift him with her submission, and their chemistry cannot be denied.

As he explores her boundaries and pushes her further than she has ever been taken before, Laura flies, but their painful past may prove one obstacle too many.

There's only one thing Slade can do…

About the Author:

Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris... at least that's what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.

There is always something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.

She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.

Where to Stalk Doris:

Meagan's Review:

Okay so I lucked out because Doris is one AMAZING chick and I was able to review this book for an honest review. And let me tell you OMG I loved this story. I WANT MORE!!! I'm so glad it is part of a series I don't think the next book will be about Slade and Petal ...but I want more Slade and Petal...I mean Laura. hehe

This book was different and special for me because while I don't know the entire ins and outs of BDSM I have a general idea of the basics. It was nice to finally read a book where the girl knew what was supposed to happen and choose to be there. I've read 2 or 3 "BDSM" books (if you call it that) and the guy is always having to start from scratch in training the sub. The "sub" first off is never a true sub and submits, but they don't understand the true nature of the relationship and what it really means to be a submissive to a dominate. Now with that being said every new Dom/Sub relationship has to begin with some basics to learn about each other, but it was so different to read a story where the sub was there by choice, it wasn't her first time and she didn't need to be coaxed into it. She wanted and needed it.

So our story begins with Laura being auctioned to the highest bidder at a BDSM club. And just when she walks on the stage she sees a familiar face in the crowd. Not just any familiar face, but someone she's had a major crush on for as long as she can remember. Slade. And O.M.G. is Slade effing hawt!! I'd like to be auctioned for one night with him. ;) Anyways Slade wins Laura or better known as Petal. He takes her back to his room in the club and it get's interesting. While Slade is pissed that she is not only at the club, but that she could have been sold to someone else, he's also happy about it because for a long time Slade has has feelings for Laura too. So while in Slade's room he get's into his Dom role thinking that by being hard and ruff it will knock some sense into Laura and she'll wise up and leave. However, that's not exactly what happens.

I find what happens at the end of this scene funny because there is pounding on the door and standing outside is Laura's brother, Michael. Ohhh and he's a cop. And let me tell you cop or not I'd love to get him alone in a room and beat the hell out of him. What a douche rocket. And by the end of this book I'm very satisfied with the situation Michael finds himself in. However, getting to that point is difficult. During this book we learn that Laura was engaged at one point and we find out that it was to Michael's partner. Something happened and she called it off and tried to tell her brother about the situation, but that didn't go the way Laura thought it would.

But Slade tries to get Laura to open up to him and talk about what's been going on since he left. And Laura tries to make Slade see she isn't the little girl he left all those years ago. Can Slade and Laura find common ground with each other? Will Michael accept them? The lifestyle they live?  Will Michael and Laura work out their issues? There are a lot of miss-communications from the past that need to be cleared up and the question becomes will they? Could there be a possibility for these two in the future? Especially for a real relationship? Questions are answered and by the end of the book there are open possibilities. Like I said I can't wait to see what's in store for the next book because I need more of these characters. Honestly, I want more of Slade and Petal. I love how their characters interact together and compliment one another. They bring out sides in one another that others can't. And they have history which only adds to their "relationship". This was a quick read, but one that grabbed me from the beginning. Make sure to pick up a copy of this awesome book by an amazing author.
