Blog Tour: Only for You by Genna Rulon

Blurb:

“In its purest form love is self-sacrificing, eternal, selfless, enduring, truthful, forgiving and indulgent. It also feels an awful lot like a kick to the stomach when you try to fight it!”

All Everleigh Carsen wanted to do was complete her final semester at Hensley University and begin the life she carefully planned.

When a wave of violent crime seizes campus, Everleigh is persuaded to attend a school sponsored self-defense seminar by her best friend, where she meets volunteer instructor, Hunter Charles. After Everleigh’s biting sarcasm induces Hunter to eject her from class, a tempestuous relationship is born.

Everleigh is determined to forget the striking man, but fate—that fickle shrew—continuously intervenes. Unable to escape him, she declares Hunter an enemy combatant. The only complication…Hunter is resolutely pursuing vindication…by any means necessary. Verbal warfare ensues, and despite Everleigh’s ingenious efforts, in Hunter, she has finally found her equal.

Only For You is a compelling tale of friendship, desire, and redemption—brimming with intelligent characters, witty dialogue, unexpected twists, profound sorrow, unfettered hope, and love’s unassailable perseverance.

Where to Stalk Genna:

Meagan's Review:

This book was not at all what I expected. This book was amazing and I can't wait to see what Genna's next book will be like. This book was Genna's debut novel and I'm hooked and she has definitely moved to one of my favorite author's list.  The characters were well written and you can't help but get lost in their story and the story line surrounding them. I found myself laughing at so many scenes in this book, but this book still held a tone of seriousness with the the mystery surrounding the attacks on campus and who  might be next.

So the drama surrounding this story is a bunch of violent crimes that start to happen on campus. Because of this like any sensible girl Everleigh and her best friend, Sam, decide to take some self-defense classes/seminar. And this is where Everleigh first meets Hunter. I think the best thing about this book was during this first meeting. The first meeting between Hunter and Everleigh was.....intense to say the least and not the good kind. It was nice to have a little bit different story between our main characters, instead of the love at first sight. This relationship was anger/hatred (in a sense) and then friendship and then eventually came the love. I think the thing I loved most about this story is the "realism" that it held. It wasn't just a story filled with our favorite fantasy's about love, but made it so that this story could almost happen to anyone in the real world. But what happened was that Everleigh's mouth took on a mind of its own and Hunter didn't take kindly to that and threw her out of the class.

As Everleigh fumes and tries to move on past the handsome Hunter, fate has other ideas about that and they keep running into one another. Eventually, these two become friends and the friendship comes out of something interesting. As the story continues we learn/read more about the attacks going on around campus and how the women are trying to defend and keep themselves safe. For me this book had everything I could truly want. There was laughter, mystery, suspense, hate/friendship/liking/love everything that pulls the reader in from the very first page that you have to know what is going to happen. For me it was like clue trying to figure out who did it and I found myself second guessing myself over and over. I love books that make you do that. And then the sexual tension that was building was STUPID. OMG I just wanted to smack Hunter because he kept driving me nuts with all the mixed signals and ugggg.

I don't want to give too much away about this story line because it's one of those books you have to read for yourself to truly appreciate it and trust me once you have your copy you won't regret it. Can't wait for the next book in this series to come out and see what will happen next. Make sure to grab your copy and get lost int he AMAZING world that Genna creates. But let me also say that Hunter had me in tears at one point breaking my heart and he wasn't even my friend. And his protectiveness is awesome...I wish I had a guy to do that for me. And of course I have to mention Griff....he's like the big brother I always wanted. This book was sooooo good and when tragedy strikes and you read it, it's like you're living it and it's scary the reality that Genna creates. I cannot give enough praises for this book. Can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

Incinerate
