Lauren has outdone herself with this one. So in reading the blurb I wasn't sure about this book and even when first reading this book I was more lost and confused. I mean how can you be a sex addict when you're a virgin? See....kinda lost there too? Well that's how I was through the first half of this book. So this book is probably one of the most "different" ones I've read, but in a good way. This book was such a good read and keeps the reader interested and hooked until the very end. AND OMG the cliff hanger at the end....AHHHHH I need the next book. I need to know the answer...yes or no?? But more on that in a moment.
Okay so back to the beginning. We first meet Harley or Layla and we can tell she has not led a normal life in any sense of the word. She decides to stop and get a tattoo and meets a man named Trey. That night Haley and Trey share something that she's never shared with anyone. Then the next day they both find each other in an interesting setting and become friends. However, this friendship is off because they both have feelings for each other, but are trying to help the other stay on the path. It's a very fine line that these two walk. Beyond this both are fighting demons from their pasts and Harley is taking more of a brunt force currently. She get's it from all sides while trying to stay on a good path and she struggles. She's at a point that the past is looking better than her current state and she might go back to things that aren't good for her. She's being blackmailed and her mother is a piece of work. Some of the things her mother says to her are terrible and Harley states it right, her mother isn't looking for a daughter, but to have a sister. Trey tries to help Harley stay in the present and get through day to day life and hates her mother (score for Trey), but this isn't always easy. Will these two ever tell each other how they feel? Will they ever take their relationship to the next level? What are all the special meanings behind Trey's tattoos? Will they ever be able to overcome their demons? Can they find true love? AND the biggest question of all is the cliffhanger at the end...what is going to happen when Harley tells Trey. Make sure to read this book it is amazenly great and I can't wait for the next one and more works from the wonderful Lauren Blakely.
