Meagan's Review:

Okay so first let  me say that I did not read the first book in this series and to be honest I caught on very quickly what was mostly in book 1 and picked up book 2 fairly quickly. Also this book isn't long, but for me it felt like it took me forever to get through it, because every time I thought we were close to an ending...it kept going. And not that it was a bad thing, but just a heads up if you read this book there is a lot of information and learning the ropes of things in this one. One final note is that while I did overall enjoy this book, I kind of wish the author had let the ending be the true ending and not continuing in the epilogue. I like out of left field twists and I thought something that rarely happens happened and I was super shocked and sad and yet extremely excited, but the epilogue brought everything back down to reality and set up a nice story line for book  3 so there is that.

Okay so  this book has a lot of complicated story lines going on, Our main characters are Sophia and Blake. A movie actress and her bodyguard. Out story starts out with Sophia's life and how much  of  a mess it is. She now uses drugs and her mother is a horrible person, her co-star isn't that great either her supposed best friend is a horrid person and the one person she could depend on left because of age and uncomfortableness and lines that kept getting blurred. All of this led to Sophia's overdose. After going to rehab she gets out to find that Blake Henderson is now her bodyguard again  as well as her sobriety person and her protector from her stalker that she doesn't know is stalking her. The awkwardness between  these two is amazing because they both have feelings for each other, they both shouldn't, they both act like they don't, they also think  no one knows about it, and their interactions are just amazing. We follow Sophia's story about trying to get her life back together and determine if she really wants to continue acting. It's all she's ever known can she do anything else. And on top of her trying to get her life back together, there is someone after her again and she doesn't know about  it it until it's too late and because Blake was keeping secrets again (granted in order to protect her, but he still wasn't honest).

Will Blake and Sophia be able to find a way to be together? What happens if she quits acting? What will his job be then? What happens if she doesn't chose Blake? What if the stalker gets to her first? Ohh and let me tell you when  we finally find out who it is O.M.G. soooooooo did not see that one coming, major kudos to Anna for that one because I kept  racking  my brain for who it could be and didn't even consider the person it was. I love things that come out of left field. Overall, I enjoyed this book and recommend it for your next reading adventure. Again I can't wait to see what next in Sophia's life. Make sure to grab your copy today.

SYNOPSIS

You’ve heard this story before. Woman feels her biological clock ticking and gets someone to knock her up.
Not for love, for baby.
Crazy, right?
That’s what I thought.
Then I found out my fiancĂ© had a vasectomy. The life I thought I had? Nope. Suddenly I’m 33, and I don’t even have a kissing buddy.
When my mom’s health takes a turn and I wind up back in my hometown of Fate, Alabama, I tell myself to leave things up to…well, you know.
Then I see Gabriel McKellan. He’s Fate’s most famous son, a bestselling author who is beautiful, complicated, and living just below me. In addition to his plus-sized brain, Gabe’s well-endowed in other ways, and great in bed to boot. I would know. He's my ex husband.
When I suggest The Plan, I don't imagine that he'll take the bait. It's been ten years, and we don't work. But Fate has other plans for both of us.

EXCERPT
I veer into the bushes, heading across the lawn toward the home’s rear right, where there’s supposed to be a staircase tacked onto the house’s back side.

“Not your walkway,” he says coolly.

“Figured that out,” I snap over my shoulder.

Hurt stings my cheeks and neck, prickles tears in my eyes. I whirl. “You are such an asshole! Always were. The biggest jerk in our class!”

“What was it, then, Marley?” He takes a long stride down the walkway toward me. “Oh, wait, I remember.” He looks pointedly down, and then back up at me with those electric eyes—and I know what he’s meaning.

“Jesus—you’re a pig!”

He smirks. “Only for you.”

“Fuck off.”

With those ungraceful words, I march toward the house I’m sharing with my ex-husband.

Cover Reveal: Respect by Aleatha Romig

Respect - An Infidelity Stand-alone Novel
“The making of a man” Standing at what I believe is the precipice of my life, I, Oren Demetri, was too young to understand that it wasn’t and too old to imagine that it couldn’t be. The already hefty accumulation of my successes and failures, bravery and fears, and rewards and suffering, had brought me to this point. It was hard to contemplate the things I’d done, and yet, in reality I’d only begun to learn the possibilities.   I suppose that’s how it was for me at twenty-nine years of age on the brink of all I’d ever wanted without fully realizing the price I would pay. Yet in that moment, I knew there would be no cost too great or sacrifice I wouldn’t make. I had no idea how far-reaching that moment of self-discovery would be; because as the congregation’s murmurs quieted, bleeding into silence and allowing the thump of my heart to be the only sound I heard, I was a man filled with love and adoration, emotions in stark contrast to those I needed in the world I’d built or the one I was about to enter. Angelina Costello was my dream and now my reality. I’d worked diligently to move beyond the actuality of being a dockworker’s son to becoming a self-made, successful entrepreneur, all in an effort to earn the right to call her my own. I’d overcome servitude to others, collecting their paychecks and lowly praises, to being the one who signed the paychecks and offered the accolades when they were rightfully earned. The world was my oyster and walking toward me on the arm of her uncle was my pearl. I’d found her amongst the empty shells life had offered. There was no need to pry open another possibility. Angelina was all I wanted. Yet my path was uncharted. There was more for me to earn, lose, and willingly give. The top of that list was respect.

This stand-alone novel may be read without reading the Infidelity series. From New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a stand-alone novel based from her beloved Infidelity series. With classic Aleatha Romig twists, turns, deceptions, and devotions, this new epic romantic thriller will delve into a world where family takes on new meaning and even the inhabitants are suspicious of the next chapter.   Have you been Aleatha'd?

Cover Reveal: Sex, Not Love by Vi Keeland

We are thrilled to bring you the next standalone novel from #1 New York Times Bestselling Author, Vi Keeland. SEX, NOT LOVE will release on January 15th, 2018

Model: Fabian Castro
Photographer: Rafael Catala
Cover designer: Sommer Stein, Perfect Pear Creative
My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards. We met at a wedding—him sitting on the groom’s side, me sitting on the bride’s. Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction. I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter. Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us. His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off. But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me. We ended up back in my hotel room. The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number. I thought about him often, but after my last relationship, I’d sworn off of charming, cocky, gorgeous-as-sin men. A year later, Hunter and I met again at the birth of our friends’ baby. Our attraction hadn't dulled one bit. After a whirlwind trip, he demanded a real phone number this time. So I left him with my mother’s—she could scare away any man with her talks of babies and marriage—and flew back home. I’d thought it was funny, until the following week when he rang the bell at Mom’s house for Sunday night dinner. The crazy, gorgeous man had won over my mother and taken an eight-week assignment in my city. He proposed we spend that time screwing each other out of our systems. Eight weeks of mind-blowing sex with no strings attached? What did I have to lose? Nothing, I thought. It’s just sex, not love. But you know what they say about the best laid plans…   ADD TO GOODREADS

Review of Descent:

Okay so I started this book unsure of what to expect. All I knew was that some type of outbreak happened six hundred years ago and the world was never the same. Also the supernatural world exists with the human population which always makes me happy. I can  also say that I  read book one  through four in less than a week because I HAD to know what was going to happen. I honestly think the first book is definitely my favorite of the four. I loved the development of the characters and their relationships with one another and I love that Adelaide's goal for as long as she can remember is to become the first woman to enter into the Red Guard and Adelaide is a pure badass and I love it.

After an attack at the school and a lot of stuff goes down and we meet Kaden (who just happens to be the brother of Xander) and we get a really good sense of people's true natures and feelings and in a sense the side of right and wrong. People stand up and become some awesome people, while others betray people. One thing that bothered me with the tail of of this book leading into the next is the relationship between Xander and Adelaide. Adelaide doesn't know the full effect that Xander had in her life, but when we get his side of the story we learn that Xander has watched over her for a lot of years and somehow during that time gained a crush on  her and wants to develop a relationship with her, even though he keeps saying it is against the rules and it won't be allowed and it's forbidden, which doesn't get answered for us and we are left wondering what in the heck he's talking about.

My other favorite character that we meet in this book is Michael and the image of this guy is pure brilliance. He is probably my favorite character. In this book Kaden and Michael are on  the same side, but it really isn't the good side per say, they fell on the side of Cole the Demon King. The book ends with a great cliff hanger that after a bit I was pretty sure was coming, but I'm glad it was still a surprise and love the way it came out.

Review of Crash:

So first let me say that I truly did enjoy this series. However, I have some issues with the development of characters and their relationships. So we learn that at the end of book one  Addie was take by Cole and has a truly unpleasant meeting with  him.....like total douche. A person can only take so much before they break and what she has to endure is awful. On the flip side of that Xander is losing his shit because Addie has been taken and it's been awhile and he can't find her. Now while I can accept that, my biggest issue is the level of "love" that is supposed to be between Xander and Addie. First off he help (from afar) raise her....like ewww. And beyond that it's not like they were best friends or knew each other for a super long time, he just kind of came into her world and wouldn't leave. I just wish that maybe there would have been a bit more to develop their relationship if we were to truly take it as the earth shattering soul mate love that it is portrayed to be.

Beyond that Addie gets a few shocks of her life in this book an after all the crap that Cole was putting her through, I was truly sorry for her to have to endure more. Again.....one person can only take so much before breaking. On the flip side Xander has hit wall after wall after wall after wall after wall and finally went to go see his brother Kade. Addie left such an impression on this group that they join forces with Xander to get her back and eventually a war is going to break  out. We also learn that Addie isn't human as everyone thought. She's part demon and part fae....which is pretty cool. And she is super powerful and for some reason her other powerful side is like an alter ego that lives in Addie's head. It gets to the point that Addie's other half trusts Cole over anyone....like an idiot and blindly follows him.  Addie tries to fight, but after the crap she went through she's getting weaker.

After the lead up to the war and a super super BIG shocker as well  as a history lesson that was interesting, I feel like the battle was super anti-climatic with the fight with Cole. The only exception for that is another super shocking event that took  place.  I honestly didn't see it coming. I found it interesting that our author would do this, because I was hoping for some more awkwardness and happenings with Kade, Addie and Xander. Overall, I did enjoy this book, I just had a few issues with relationship development.

Review of Soar:

So the beginning of this book was horribly sad and I felt terrible for Addie and everything she was going through. I was honestly kind of hoping that something  would come about with Addie and Kade, because I just wasn't a fan of Xanders. I wanted to like him and I knew that I was supposed to, but he was just meh to me....and secretly I really wanted Addie with Kade. And I thought they were really going to get their chance.....and then Addie's mother stepped her food into the scene and OMG is that woman a horrid person. It became clear that Addie's life would no longer be her own and that she would have to go to court and learn to be a princess and the life that she once wanted was just a distant dream.

Addie is still grieving and slowly learning her new role (thankfully she has Michael) and life is completely new for her and her  mother is no use, while her step-father is like over joyed at her return. I  honestly for the the longest time thought he was going to be a bad guy, because it technically wasn't his daughter and he wife cheated on him and all, but no he actually was excited to have Addie in  the palace and as his "daughter." She learned very quickly though that the fae are not nice people and that is how little Sophie came to be in her life. I love the relationship there. It also became apparent that Addie was going to have to get married and had four suitors to chose from. I honestly could have been fine with three out of the four....the fourth one was an even bigger douche than Cole, if that's possible. I was very much okay with  Addie's final decision and interestingly enough I feel like that's sometimes the thinking of real royals and their weddings/arrange marriages and from that standpoint it wasn't horrible for me to see her with one of these guys, even though it wasn't her "soul mate."

At the very end of this after Addie get married a GIANT ASS BOMB is dropped in her lap and shocker of all shockers comes right into Addie's face and honestly.......did not see it  coming at all. And Addie is left with a HUGE choice to make and end to book three. lol

Review of Rapture:

And so begins the final book to this series. So this final review was extremely hard for me to write because I can't and don't want to give anything away because it will take away from the previous books. So I'm going to try and do what I can without giving anything away.

So the shocker at the end of book three rolls over into book four. And a ripple effect takes place. The book took several interesting turns and Addie's choice from book three plays a huge part in this book  and I truly fall in love with this dude. Now technically speaking I still wanted Addie to end up with Kade, but as a runner up I am very much okay with her choice. He is very level headed and very understanding, while still laying  it out for her. I wanted this book to have more and less at  the same time. (Yeah I know that doesn't make a whole lot of sense). The parts that were short I wanted longer, I felt like they were just kind of thrown in. On the flip side some things took wayyy too long to work themselves out. Things that came to light really needed to stay dead and be gone and the reasons were stupid and I  wanted to smack a few people around.

Also in this book, Addie's life is in danger and on top of all the other drama happening they have to deal with that too. I was blown away at the ending of this book. It was not at all what  I was expecting, and the path to get to the end I felt was a little over the top. I felt like it was wrapped up in this pretty bow to make choices and decisions easier and I don't know for some reason  I wanted it to be messier in the end. Not blood and guts, but after everything Addie went through to get to that point, I just didn't want something super clean. But that's just my personal opinion. Overall, I did enjoy this book as well  as the series. For me it was uniquely different and because of that I truly enjoyed it. I just had a few little critiques here and there, but I highly recommend reading  this series because it is so worth it.
