Meagan's Review:

When I started this book I could tell that something had happen in Lily's past....something tragic enough to make her run. We learn a lot about Lily and the type of person she is. We also learn that she feels she's alone in the world, even though she has an aunt and and uncle and 3 cousins who love her and with whom she used to be really close to. As the story continues we learn that one tragic night of driving home, Lily, her parents and her sister when in a car accident and the only one to come out alive was Lily. She also blames herself (even though after hearing her story you know it isn't her fault) because she was the driver. You really feel for her character and all that she's been through and even if you can't relate to her, you understand why she "ran away" to Florida to just be away from her previous life. Also Lily is a writer and she finds comfort and inspiration while being on the beach writing her stories.

However, fate has other ideas for Lily. Lily has developed a routine; wake up, sometimes run, get a morning bagel from Luke, write some, sometimes eat lunch and stop and see Luke and get a slice of pizza, maybe write some more, lay out in the sun, watch the sun set and take photos and maybe write some more. One afternoon while relaxing on the beach Lily has a strange encounter. She is laying out and it ends up that some strange man and Lily smile at each other and wave and ohhh then he comes over to introduce himself. We learn that the sexy stranger's name is Kyle. Kyle and Lily exchange pleasantries and then he pretty much says that he'll see her around and Lily just can't seem to take her mind off of him. One night Lily falls asleep watching the sun set and she wakes up in the arms of a man carrying her to her cottage. Strange man is none other than Kyle. It's an interesting encounter especially when he says that she will be seeing a lot more of him.

Okay so let me say this....I have mixed feelings about Kyle the entire book. At first I really liked him. Then some of stalker tendencies came out and it's not that I thought he was going to be a bad guy, but my creep factor came out a lot with him because they just haven't known each other for very long. We find out that Kyle's been kind of watching (not supposed to be creepily) Lily. He's intrigued by her and is smitten with her which is why he wants to get to know her. He doesn't live in Florida, but decided to stay around a little while to meet Lily. And he fits the exact description of a dominate male alpha. As Lily and Kyle begin to see each other he does a lot of romantic and sweet things for her (which is apparently uncommon for him), but he's a little overbearing for someone that doesn't know someone. Which is why I think it's during this time that he give me my creep factor, because in all honesty he's a really sweet guy who's trying with her. It isn't until Kyle asks Lily to come home with him for a week and meet his family and hang out that we truly see a different side of Kyle and this is the side of Kyle that I like. These two have an interesting relationship with one another and anyone can see there is so much chemistry that it's palpable through the pages.

While Kyle and Lily begin seeing each other Luke comes a little more apparent. Everyone but Lily can see that Luke is and has been in love with Lily, even though they are "just friends". And poor Luke just can't win and gets blind sided a lot in this book. We'll have to see what happens with his character. Kyle is trying to help Lily break out of her shell and start living her life again and I love the many many things he does to help with that. And the dates he takes her on are amazing and again make me have unrealistic expectations of men. He puts so much thought and "love" into the dates that you can't help but swoon. But while this is going on Lily starts getting some creepy fan mail. Someone that knows her personally, even though she uses a pen name for writing her books. I was wondering through the whole book who it might be, if we maybe were introduced to this character, but it wasn't till I was reading the end that I was like OMG what?!?!? Really???? Ahhhh I think I know....maybe...possibly...that would make sense. So I'm itching to find out what's going to happen with the real creepy stalker, stalking Lily, especially because Kyle is the overbearing dominant alpha male who will do anything to protect Lily.

This book was a great read. I loved Lily and seeing what she goes through in book and how she struggles and OMG cliff hanger much at the end of this book??? I can't wait for October because there are sooooo many unanswered questions. We have creepy stalker fan boy. Luke. Kyle and Lily's "relationship". What demons are in Kyle's past that he hasn't dealt with yet. Lily's demons. Lily and her family's relationship. Sooo many things that need answered that leave the reader hanging onto every word that Alicia writes because we just have to know. I highly recommend this book so make sure to go get your copy.
