Blog Tour: Delta: Revenge by Cristin Harber

ABOUT DELTA: REVENGE

A Tortured Hero with a Heart of Gold

Growing up on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, Javier Almeida has only his older sister to protect him. When she’s sold to a human-trafficker, he vows to hunt down those responsible.

CristinHarber_DeltaRevenge#2_HRYears later, Titan Group’s Delta team finds him, tattooed and brawling, a vigilante protector with information they want. They take him in and train him, working him harder than a man should be driven, until he’s a soldier harboring an obsession. Ready for revenge, Javier ghosts his way across the globe, tracking the men who took his sister and working elite private security jobs.

Meets Sweet and Sassy

Jilted at the altar, Sophia Cole turns the reception into a one-woman party. She’s intent on devouring all the cake and champagne, so she can bask in the calories she’s been avoiding. In the midst of the revelry, he walks in, the one man she can never ignore.

Javier is her older brother’s black ops teammate—an automatic Do Not Go There. But if there’s one thing better than fondant and a buzz to ease the wounds of a cheating fiancĂ©, it might be a one-night stand with a South American military man.

It's a Game Changer

Javier didn’t expect to see Sophia again. He never thought he would even want to see her again. He shouldn’t have touched her, but his mind won’t stay away from her.

Now, Sophia Cole is thousands of miles away from the safety of her parents’ lavish estate and working alongside him in hell. She’s a staffer at an Embassy, and he’s there to keep them alive. There are bombs and bullets and blood-hungry enemies.

And then she’s taken. Gone. Just like his sister. But so much worse.

Meagan's Review:

Okay so this was the first book in this series that I've read and to be honest even though it is  part of a series, you can still get away without reading any other books in the series. With that being said I wasn't truly sure what to expect, outside of hawt ass military men who do "black ops" kind of work. Javier and Sophia are very interesting characters. When we first meet Sophia she is getting married and have some very very intense doubt and questions about her upcoming nuptuals. As she is at the alter contemplating life she hears something that no woman should ever have to hear on her wedding day from the groom or her supposed best friend who by the way is the maid of honor. As one would expect she leaves the lying cheating groom at the alter and walks back down the isle and out of the church. I  mean come on who does that....idiot. So anyways Sophia has to put on a very good show for her reception because her mother has deemed it still on and I felt like it was a train  wreck waiting to happen.

So on the flip side of this we have Javier and to be honest I really feel bad for this guy....he's been dealt a crap life and I just want to give him a hug. He has one purpose in life.....find them men who took his sister and get revenge. Whilst this is his life's mission....he also has a sweet spot for little Miss Sophia and wasn't heartbroken when she walked away from her wedding day. And while he is dealing with his own issues that day....that night a little......night between these two turns into a little something  something between the sheets and changes the paths these two are on.

Moving ahead Sophia goes on an assignment to a country that isn't the safest place to be and acts as an aid, but has a little undercover work as well. With some issues raising the Delta team was called in to do a little recon work and basically help out and Sophia crashes with Javier again. Now what is interesting is he is having a difficult time with her being in danger and doesn't contain anything when he sees her. It truly in an interesting encounter and after some fighting and talking and things happening between the sheets again they come to terms with this thing they have but don't have and Javier and his team leave to go on their next mission. Now this is the part of the book that I liked and didn't like. My thought process was okay something is going to have to happen to Sophia (like get kidnapped by the same people who took Javier's sister) and Javier is going to come in like a bat out of hell and save her. But no....not quite. The embassy she was staying at get's attacked and a lot goes down, but no kidnapping. Then later on while on another mission Javier learns that Sophia was  kidnapped this time (I didn't see that one coming.....like seriously this girl has horrible luck) and Javier has like the greatest line of the book here....like this whole book is worth reading just for this line and what it means....which is why I'm not giving it because you  have to read it to fully grasp the epicness of it!!

But when Sophia is kidnapped Javier has a true choice to make. Get the people who took his sister and get his revenge.....the whole reason he joined Delta or help save Sophia...someone who is becoming more important that the memory of his sister. Overall, I really liked the book and I enjoyed the characters and everything, but I felt like some things were never really answered and I needed them to be. This book was titled Revenge and I feel like Javier kind of came up short in that area....in a way. I mean what did happen to his sister? Did she die? Is she alive somewhere? If she is dead how did she die?  When? There are so many questions left unanswered when it comes to her and Javier's reasons for becoming the man he did. So on that side I was kind of disappointed we didn't find out. But the other surprises that this book gave were great and I took in every moment of it. Overall, again I really liked this book....I just wanted some more answers.
